San Beda, St. Benilde top WNCAA cheerleading contest

San Beda College Alabang claimed its fourth straight juniors cheerleading crown while College of St. Benilde snared the seniors title as the 40th Women’s National Collegiate Athletic Association (WNCAA) drew to a close recently at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium.

SBCA bested host Angelicum College and St. Scholastica’s College for its second title after an earlier victory in midgets volleyball. CSB beat La Consolacion College Manila and University of Asia and the Pacific.

Angelicum also turned over the hosting chores to Centro Escolar University.

Other 40th season winners were Lyceum (Sr A basketball and volleyball), UA&P (Sr B basketball and volleyball), St. Scholastica (junior volleyball), Miriam College (junior basketball), Philippine Women’s University (senior futsal), De La Salle Zobel (junior futsal), La Salle College (midgets and junior badminton and junior table tennis) and Rizal Technological University (senior badminton and table tennis).

Lyceum cagers also ruled the 6th WNCAA National Games held in Binan, Laguna.

The 40th WNCAA was supported by Monster Radio RX 93.1, Goody, IBC 13, Manila Bulletin, Sports Digest, Muscle Tape, Burlington BioFresh, MJC Press and Macgraphics Carranz. (END)
